Chapter 1 Question 1
Orwell has made up the telescreen in his novel, when Winston is watched every second. There is no privacy for him or freedom of speech. In the world today, it's not that bad, but people dont get the privacy they need at times. Apparently, the governments has the power to hack phone lines to citizens they think are "suspicious" when they aren't doing anything wrong. There's also the FBI. The FBI basically stalks people and watches them 25/7. It's a creepy thought when you think about it. The world Orwell visioned is somewhat like how the world is becoming today.
